I have been using Lunarpages hosting services for years. The website you're seeing now, along with a few other of my websites, are hosted at Lunarpages since they were created.
Web host with extremely low down time!
There are many web hosts out there offering unlimited disk storage/bandwidth but do be alert that there's often a catch-22 behind these lucrative bargain. For example, some web hosts might limit your upload file size, daily bandwidth limit, slow server load time or worse, poor server uptime! What I find good in Lunarpages is that they have no hidden rules - you are buying 1,500/15,000 GB disk space/bandwidth hosting, you'll get the full specs of it. You can even upload a single 1,500 GB file to their server (and load it 10 times to finish of your bandwidth limit) if you want. And the best of all, while Lunarpages hosting plan is cheap, their hosting server uptime remain very respectable. In fact, I have never encountered any major down time for ALL my websites hosted on Lunarpages.
Updated software
Updating your hosting software (like MySQL, Kernel, Joomla, WordPress) is very important to avoid unwanted mess (think hacking! software loopholes! bugs!). Unlike some other hosting companies, Lunarpages is very efficient in updating their software. Believe me, I have met web host that are still offering WordPress 2.2 in their Fantastico where others in Lunarpages are already working on WordPress 2.6. and Lunarpages cut down lots of my job in doing it manually.
Well trained customer supports
Trust me, Lunarpages is the web hosting with the most positive feedbacks on their customer supports.
Search around the Internet and you'll find page-after-page of compliments on their customer supports. This is understandable as from my study, I learned that Lunarpages spend a great deal of money hiring a lot of support staff (instead of outsourcing customer support to other third-world country) to take care of their customers. Need help? You can reach Lunarpages support center via email, support help desk, toll free phone call, and LunarForums.
Hell yeah, Lunarpages is recommended!
If you're looking for an affordable yet reliable web host, then Lunarpages is your choice. There're have so many good points to talk about them and I have to delete a few other points above to cut this page short! In fact, I am so keen to talk about them until it made me known as the "Lunar-Fans". So well, shopping for a web hosting? Go Lunar! :)

Not many web host are willing to open their server for download speed testing. Not many, but not Lunarpages. If you would like to check out the download speed for Lunarpages hosting, you can test it right here. The speed test was in fact created back in year 2005 and it’s widely tested by Lunarpages users.
It’s easy to add additional domain on your Lunarpages hosting account via cPanel.
An addon domain is a domain hosted on the same Lunarpages account but is pointed to a subfolder of your main domain. It works like an independent website where e-mail account and stats reporting can be added separately from the main domain.
To create an addon domain, you’ll first need to login to Lunarpages cPanel. Once you have made your way to the cPanel front page, look for an icon named ‘Addon Domain’.

Click in and you’ll see a series of addon domain already hosted on your account (if there’s any). For the first timer, here’s the screen you’ll be seeing where a simple form is given at the Addon Domain Maintenance screen.

Fill in the form accordingly and click ‘Add Domain’ when you’re done. The cPanel system will setup everything automatically and you should be done within minutes.
In case you need help for the form (which I don’t think it’s necessary), here is a rundown quoted from Lunarpages Wiki Page:
New Addon Domain:
The domain you wish to add to the account (such as example.com). Be sure you do not add the “www” in front of the addon domain when putting in the address.
Username/directory Name:
The subdomain/director in your account you would like to point the addon domain.
Password:
Create a new password for the addon domain. Please make it 6-8 characters and it should not contain the domain name.
The setup process is pretty simple and direcet. It’s, however, worth noting that addon domains will not be functional unless the domain name is registered with a valid domain name register and the domain name is configured to point at the Lunarpages nameserver for your account (something like NS54.Lunarpages.com and so on).
Also, do not confuse addon domain with a subdomain. Sub domains are extensions of your main site. They look like subdomain.yourdomain.com; while add on domains are self standing domains which are simply located on the same account as your original domain.
Folks at Lunarpages are keen in expanding their reach to their prospects. As we can see Lunarpages are running blog templates design competition, updating blog frequently, setting up more and more wiki pages, calling up for customer’s feedbacks, and now comes the web 2.0 marketing – Facebook Group!

At the time of writing, the group has over 100 of members where mostly I believe are Lunarpages staffs and satisfied clients. I’m indeed very happy to see that the company is working hard in reaching their affiliates and customers – this shows that they are serious about the business and are willing to adapt to the new environment for further expansion.
Now in case you had heard about Lunarpages or are using their services at the moment, why not take some time visit Lunarpages’s Facebook group? It’s, seriously, a nice place to meet up with some nice guys.
Have fun!

Ever thought of running your own website online?
Thanks to open source software, free web services, and cheap computer hardware; hosting websites online nowadays are much cheaper and easier. Look around yourself, there are so many bloggers and webmasters around – almost everyone are publishing content online or trying to develop their own cash machines online – why not you?
Although it’s cheap and easy, there are few consideration points that must be taken seriously. Web hosting, for example, is something that can make or break your website. In fact, picking up the right hosting service is the most crucial factor when comes to starting a new website.
What I’m going to show you today in this article is about web hosting shopping – a list of 5 tips for web hosting shoppers.
1. Getting the right hosting company
A good hosting company assure smooth and easy web operations. Reading hosting reviews at forums and blogs, checking complaints on Better Business Bureau or other organization, reviewing hosting features and pricing, as well as reading customers feedback are always the must-do steps to filter out the right web hosting firm.
Getting in touch with the customer support of your candidates might be a good suggestion as the quality of customer supports reveal (more or less) the quality of the management. Also, it’s wise to choose a hosting service that runs their own data centers (server centers). This is to ensure that your web host is not one of those small hosting resellers.
2. Dedicated or shared hosting
A shared hosting is cheap and affordable; while your website works safer and faster (theoretically) with dedicated hosting, it cost a lot more. For newbies or mom-n-pop webmaster, shared hosting is often the wiser choice.
In case you’re in dilemma, read further at: When you should take up a dedicated server?

3. Hosting operating system: Windows or Linux?
Web server operating system (OS) is another major consideration point.
Most shared server nowadays are running on Linux operating system due to the fact that Linux is more reliable and cheaper. Windows hosting on the other hand requires extra maintenance work and is much expensive. Windows hosting are normally selected when certain web applications (Microsoft ASP.net for example) are needed.
A point worth noting is that not all hosting firms come with dual OS hosting service. For example both Bluehost and Hostmonster offer only Linux hosting. For readers who wish to setup their website on a Windows hosting, kindly check Lunarpages Windows Hosting offers – they are one of the best in industry.
4. Web Hosting Features
Different hosting firms offer different web hosting package. Before making decision, you must understand what you need for your website.
Answer questions like: How much storage capacity do you need for your hosting server? What are the necessary hosting features – do you need shopping cart? Private SSL? How much bandwidth do you need? Do you plan to host addon domains on the same hosting account? How many MySQL databases are allowed? Does the web host support cgi-bin access? Is web stats report available?
5. Pricing
It’s no secret that there are full of scams and crooks in the hosting industry. Don’t be ripped off by lousy third-class reseller web hosts! Check and compare hosting prices before you hand out your credit card info. Also, a check on the hosting company refund policy is always necessary. Reliable hosting companies normally offer long trial period. Go with these web hosts as you can simply quick and refund if the the hosting company doesn’t suit your needs.
Sidenote: Lunarpages for example, offer a 30 days trial period for all their customers.
Finding the right hosting service is the first and most important step in building your website. All features that you need for your website should be carefully checked and studied before you make the decision. This is important so that you time spent for all these can be a long term benefit. In conclusion, we should not fall for lousy hosting plan and regret later. Instead, we should invest more time in the beginning to search and study everything that is out there to see which is suitable for us and select depending on our need.
With that, we will be able to build ourselves a good website.
